Moonlight Markets

Our not-to-be-missed Moonlight Markets happen from 19 November to 17 December, each Tuesday evening from 5pm to 9pm. This year the focus of the Bryanston Moonlight Christmas Market is on wholesome family entertainment that allows children to experience the wonder and excitement of the true meaning of Christmas! A Children’s Theatre takes centre stage from 6pm to 7pm each evening with entertainment to captivate and enchant the children. Apart from the main theatre, a collection of children’s side shows offers a variety of entertainment and crafting including face painting, bead & wire crafting, ornamental clay painting, candle making, T-shirt painting, wooden toy painting and the creation of an advent garden.
Adults will enjoy leisurely shopping in a festive outdoor environment away from the frenzy of the shopping malls. Loads of delicious snacks, meals and desserts awaken your taste buds and tempt you to enjoy supper under the stars to the accompaniment of great music. Come and share the magical and festive fun of our Moonlight Markets. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance or online on QUICKET

Influx Team

Influx Music specializes in creating flawless musical ambiance for all special occassions, based in Johannesburg. Influx is a post modern and african Jazz band that provides from a duo to a 6 piece band, offering a unique and memorable musical experience. African Jazz is the root of South African music and is then fuzed into the latest top 40 hits and rearranging them into funky Jazz tunes. Influx Music has graced many festivals, Jazz clubs and stages. Their main aim is to preserve African culture and music through their own music.

The Reckoning - Moonlight amrkets

Stewart Irving is no stranger to the entertainment industry, having been part of it for 42 years,   His exploits include recording, songwriting, touring, television producing and TV journalism but, without question, he is best known to South Africans for being the front man and lead vocalist of successful act, Ballyhoo, during the 80’s. Their hit, “Man on the Moon” took the country by storm and is still well-known and loved today. Hits like “Heart of Stone” and “Superstar” firmly established his solo career, securing his spot within the South African musical elite as a gifted vocalist and songwriter. He is also the leader and founder of The Reckoning.

The Old Hat Jazz Trio

Old Hat play songs from various artists like Diana Krall and Frank Sinatra.Easy listening to accompany your meal and good company. Glen Ashford on Bass guitar has been in the Gap show band for the past 30 years playing various residencies in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Alistair Coakley on guitar is a legend in the music industry, currently also guitaist for SA legendary group Clout, he was also the guitarist for Hotline, with PJ Powers. Connie Foster is a teacher at Michael Mount. She has also been in several bands over the years. She was with the Working Girls in the 80’s, played keyboards for Clout and now, along with Glen and Alistair also plays in the Gap showband, as well as the Old Hat Trio.

The Coal Train Marimba Band


The Afrida Marimba Band came to the market in the early 1990's as a group of just-out-of-school boys to gain experience and hone their musical skills. They have come a long way since then and are now a sought after group offering an excellent repertoire of excellent African jazz and other western jazz favourites.

The Toy Lady's stall is a firm favourite with our regular young visitors.   They enjoy the imaginative free play that the permanently set up train set and doll's house offers them

Richard of Classical Wooden Toys offers children the opportunity of glueing together a variety of wooden toys and then painting the toy to their liking.

Candlemaking

Create your own candle by dipping a candle wick into molten wax.

NJ helps at the Candlemaking stall in the main tea garden area.   His gentle guidance enables children to easily master the process and leave the market eagerly clutching their treasured creation. 

Enjoy some refreshments in the tea garden while watching your child being absorbed by the art of candlemaking.
